Worship Director Mark Jackson

Pastor Mark Jackson

Teaching Pastor

Mark has been attending New Heights for over 20 years.  His interest in music began as a 9-year-old when he began taking piano lessons.  As a pipe organist for his local church as a teenager he was exposed to the rich tradition of hymns and “old gospel” sounds.  Attending New Heights was his first exposure to contemporary Christian music and he was blessed with the opportunity to serve on good worship teams and under good leaders.  “God looks at our heart when we worship him.  We always want to present the “firstfruits” of our labor in song and music so we rehearse and strive to deliver our best to the Lord.  However, if our hearts are not totally and completely focused on the Lord and His majesty and greatness then we are simply signing songs to ourselves.  We truly worship to an audience of one, the Lord Jesus Christ.”

Mark has spent his entire career in aviation in the areas of aircraft maintenance and quality assurance.  Mark and his family relocated from Minnesota to Santee in 1990.  He and his wife Geri have two daughters and seven grandchildren.  Mark is also currently a student in the ministerial program of the Wesleyan Church.

The newest addition to staff, Lorelee, is the Business Manager for New Heights and the bookkeeper for East County Christian Preschool.  She has been a member of our church since 2005 and comes to us with an extensive background in Construction Accounting, having worked in the accounting field since 1992.

Lorelee was born into a family that practiced being on mission as a way of life.  Her parents were missionaries in Mexico when she was a baby, returning to the State before she was three.  From there the Langworthy family worked with homeless shelters, church plants, fostering probation girls, and even a Christian commune in Julian.  Through the missional journey, Lorelee and her siblings were included in their parent's service to the Lord.  Serving the Lord was something they did, like breathing or eating.  It was who they were, who Lorelee continues along with all her siblings.  As Proverbs 22:6 says:  Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Lorelee is married to Jim Ringnell and has three grown children.  Her two boys are both Ordained Ministers, Dr. Micah Haney ordained through the Wesleyan denomination and Jesse Haney ordained through the Southern Baptist denomination.  Her daughter, Lara Swearengin, currently works as an E.R. Tech as Children's Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska.  Lorelee also has 9 grandchildren whom she loves dearly.

In her spare time, Lorelee enjoys camping, playing her guitar, and many forms of art, including painting and working with gourds.
